Richard McDougall

Managing Director & Co-founder

With over two decades of experience in financial markets, Richard has held pivotal advisory and executive positions in banking and investment firms, both domestically and internationally.

 

Before co-founding Hamilton12, Richard served as a Director at the Westpac Group. His valuable insights and extensive experience played a crucial role in guiding Private Bank clients to make well-informed investment decisions.

 

Preceding his tenure at Westpac, Richard served as the Queensland State Manager for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. He played a key role in establishing the wealth management presence in Queensland following the global acquisition of Smith Barney from Citigroup.

 

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Richard held the position of Director at UBS Wealth Management, a prominent Swiss global financial services company. He also served as the Australian General Manager for Currencies Direct, a UK-based foreign exchange broker, and international payment provider.

 

In addition to his corporate roles, Richard contributes as an Advisory Board Member of the UQ Institute for Molecular Bioscience.

 

Richard's educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce from Bond University, as well as a Master of Business Administration (Hons) from The University of Queensland.
